Traditional tryouts often reward the players who have the hottest shooting day or make the biggest impression in a short amount of time.
We believe there is a better way.
Evaluation Week allows our coaches to see athletes in a real teaching environment where they are learning, competing, making mistakes, asking questions, and responding to feedback.
That gives us a much clearer picture of who each player is and who they can become.
Our goal isn't simply to assemble the most talented roster.
Our goal is to build teams filled with athletes who love to learn, embrace hard work, and make the players around them better.
-
We believe development comes through both teaching and playing. That's why we aim to keep team rosters at 7–8 players, giving each athlete more individualized coaching during practices and more opportunities to contribute in games.

Why Evaluate This Way?
At Nebraska Basketball Academy, we don't believe a player should be judged strictly by how they perform during a pressure-filled tryout that does not resemble how practices or training will be throughout the season.
That's why we are doing things differently. We believe players deserve to be evaluated in the same environment they will experience throughout the season. Learning, competing, making mistakes, and responding to coaching are all what should be evaluated, not just who scores the most points.
